Solvent Management Plans
Portuguese Decree-Law no. 127/2013 aims to reduce the direct and indirect effects of volatile organic compounds emissions into the environment. Volatile organic compounds emissions, resulting from the application of organic solvents in certain activities and installations, affect air quality, are harmful to human health and the environment in general.
The facilities covered by Decree-Law no. 127/2013 are required to submit an annual Solvent Management Plan which is intended to demonstrate compliance with the emission limit values for industrial gases, to identify measures for emissions reductions and to ensure public information on solvent consumption and emission of VOC.
